Graphics
What
types of graphics should I use?
The
answer to that question depends on your company,
your products and what you are trying to accomplish
at the trade show. However, more times than
not you want your trade show graphics to act
as a billboard for your trade show booth. You
don't expect them to tell the whole story just
enough to get prospects in your trade show booth
space. Now it is time for you to do the rest.
How
many graphics to I need?
It
is almost always better to have 1 or 2 large
powerful graphic images than many smaller ones.
Remember, you only have 3 seconds to gain a
prospects attention on the show floor, so you
don't want to crowd their mind with a lot of
images. When using pop-up style trade show displays,
pop-up mural displays can provide a powerful
billboard type image.
What
if I don't have any good photos to work with?
When
trying to create large format prints for a trade
show display, it is so important to have high
quality images. Low resolution photos will not
look sharp and crisp if they aren't of the highest
quality. That being said professional photography
work can be expensive and many trade show exhibitors
are working on a tight budget. There is always
an alternative. Many of todays graphic design
programs allow us to create exciting designs
directly on the computer without the use of
photos. This can provide a unique and exiciting
trade show display design concept.
How
do I have trade show graphics created?
It
is best to work with a graphic designer that
you feel comfortable with. Many times the graphic
designers that helped to create your brochures
can also create your trade show graphics. However,
make sure they are familiar with the resolution
requirements of large format graphics.
What
should I watch out for in production?
Make
sure you submit a PMS color or a color sample
so your printer can match the final output color.
Remember, all printers will print your files
slightly different colors. It is important to
make sure that they have a color they can match
to. Also ask your print to produce a full size
test print of you graphic, so that you can make
sure that the resolution will be suitable.
